I hate to be the bearer of bad news, yet I frequently find myself telling a patient that unfortunately one of their teeth needs to be extracted. No matter how well you take care of your teeth, you may find yourself in this difficult situation. One wrong bite of a sandwich and you could wind up staring at your crown from your root canal treated tooth laying in your hand. You may have followed all of your dentist’s treatment recommendations, yet here you are sitting in the dental chair looking at an image of a sheared off root where your beautiful crown once was.
